 UPDATE COFFEE PRICE TODAY FEB 27TH, 2023

Ending the latest trading session, the price of Robusta coffee in London delivered in May 2023 decreased by 10 USD/ton at 2,151 USD/ton, delivered in July 2023 decreased by 13 USD/ton at 2,137 USD/ton.

Meanwhile on the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee delivered in May 2023 fell 2 cents/lb, at 187.57 cents/lb, delivered in July 2023 fell 2.1 cents/lb, at 186 cents/lb

Summarizing last week, the price of Robusta coffee in London delivered in May 2023 increased by 53 USD/ton; Price of Arabica coffee delivered in May 2022 decreased slightly by 0.18 cents/lb

Although the coffee market maintained its upward momentum last week, it was mainly due to the first 3 sessions of the week. In the last two sessions of the week, the market turned down.

According to experts, capital management funds are overbought. Last week, the price of gold dropped, causing capital flows to flow to commodity exchanges, including coffee. Speculative capital flows continue to withdraw from risk assets due to concerns that the Fed will be aggressive in managing monetary interest rates

At the end of the week, USDX rebounded strongly, pushed the value of emerging currencies down, causing commodity prices in general to drop.

Investors talk a lot about the possibility of the Fed raising interest rates by 50 basis points in March, with the expectation that Treasury yields will continue to rise in the same direction as the greenback in the near term.

The high USD will continue to be a drag on the coffee market. Along with that, inventories on the 2 bourses increased due to the influx of goods, which is expected to reduce coffee prices this week.
