UPDATE COFFEE MARKET PRICE TODAY on June 19th, 2023 Robusta coffee prices set new peaks both domestically and internationally
In the past week, the domestic raw coffee price continued to increase strongly and reached new peaks, sometimes approaching the level of 67,000 VND/kg. Although in the last trading session of the week, the coffee price slightly decreased by 100-200 VND/kg, which did not affect the first opening coffee price this week to maintain a record level and is likely to move to the next level mark 67,000 VND/kg this week.Robusta coffee prices not only increased strongly in the domestic market but also continued to increase well in futures trading on the London floor (UK).In the past few years, there was a time when the price of Robusta coffee for delivery in July 2023 has exceeded 2,800 USD/ton, a new peak in more than 15 years at this exchange for coffee.Having a favorable upward momentum, the price of Robusta coffee on the London floor in the latest trading session before the opening time of June 19 fluctuated from $2,591 to $2,796 per ton, depending on the delivery term.
Specifically, for the coffee delivery term in July 2023, the matching price reached 2,796 USD/ton; coffee delivery in September 2023 reached 2,747 USD/ton, delivery in 11/2023 reached 2,660 USD/ton and coffee delivery in January 2024 reached 2,591 USD/ton. The trading gap between the terms of July 2023 and January 2024 is more than 200 USD/ton, showing that the supply of Robusta is still difficult to solve in the near term.
The price of Arabica coffee decreased slightly
The price of Arabica coffee on the New York Stock Exchange (USA) in the past week fluctuated up and down but basically kept the price sideways. The end of the week's trading session decreased slightly compared to the beginning of the week.
Today, June 19, the New York Stock Exchange (USA) is closed for the celebration of the Abolition of Slavery Day in the US and will reopen on June 20.
The price of Arabica coffee in the latest trading session ranged from 179.15 to 184.9 cents/lb. Specifically, the price of coffee for delivery in July 2023 reached 184.90 cents/lb; coffee delivery in September 2023 reached 180.75 cents/lb; December 2023 reached 179 cents/lb; coffee delivery term in March 2024 reached 179.15 cents/lb.
